about

MonkeyPrompt is a minimalistic, customizable typing test — in the spirit of the great monkeytype — where instead of random words, you type the thing you probably type most these days: prompts for AI.

Every test is a realistic prompt someone might actually send: debugging a slow query, pitching a podcast, outlining a short film, negotiating a raise. Fresh prompts are generated live by AI, with a handwritten bank as backup. Pick a category — coding, writing, business, creative — and a length, then see how fast you can get your thoughts to the machine.

Features: live wpm and accuracy, per-second result graphs, smooth caret, 20+ themes, a command line (press esc), timed and full-prompt modes, zen mode, custom text, accounts, and a global leaderboard.

word set

Prompts keep natural capitalization and punctuation by default — because real prompts have commas. Turn punctuation off in the mode bar if you want the classic lowercase experience.

stats

wpm — total correct characters divided by five, per minute. raw — the same but including mistakes. acc — correct keypresses out of all keypresses. consistency — how even your per-second speed was.
